Is a permit required for a roof replacement?
Yes. The Manheim Township Code Compliance Department requires a building permit for re-roofing, for example, the replacement of roof coverings, and related above-deck insulations, if applicable. This applies to all existing building roofs regulated by the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code and Manheim Township Ordinances.

The residential re-roof permit application, or the building permit application and roof permit supplement for a non-residential property, are available at the Municipal Office located at 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, PA, or by mail upon request. If you should have any questions, or if you would like to request either the residential re-roof permit application, or a building permit application and roof permit supplement by mail, please do not hesitate to contact the Code Compliance Department at 717/569-6406, extension 6, or by email to code compliance@manheimtownship.org.
