Crime Alert – August 23, 2010 Residential Burglary
The Manheim Township Police Department is investigating a residential burglary which occurred in the 1700 Block of Billview Drive, Manheim Township, at 6:30 a.m. August 21, 2010.
A white male and a black male, both in their 20’s, were observed by neighbors leaving the house carrying a television. When they realized that they were being watched, the pair dropped the television and fled in a tan Chevrolet Malibu, which was parked in front of the house. Access was made through a garage window while the residents were asleep. A stereo was taken during the incident, loss $200.
Homeowners are reminded that they should secure their residences at all times and leave exterior lights on at night to deter criminals. Bushes and trees should be trimmed back from the home so as not to allow places for concealment. Report suspicious activity as it is occurring by calling 911.

Crime Alert – June 14, 2010 Residential Burglary
The Manheim Township Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred in the 300 Block of Blossom Hill Road, Manheim Township.
Sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday evening (June 12-13, 2010), the home was entered and over $10,000 worth of electronics and other items was taken. It is believed that entry was made through a window.
If you saw anything suspicious in the area of Blossom Hill Road during the time that this occurred, please contact the police immediately. If you know who committed this crime and you wish to remain anonymous, please call the Manheim Township Anonymous Crime Tipline at (717) 569-2816.

Crime Alert – April 20, 2010 Residential Burglary
At 1:40 p.m. April 19, 2010, a resident in the 100 Block of East Roseville Road, Manheim Township, confronted a male who had entered the rear of the home through a sun porch. The male fled on foot without taking anything. He is described as a “scruffy” white male, 20-30 years of age, carrying a black backpack.
Residents are reminded to report suspicious activity as it is occurring by dialing 911. Remember to lock your doors and windows, even while you are home. Outside lights should be left on at night to deter crime, and bushes should be trimmed back from your windows and doors.

Crime Alert – April 9, 2010 Burglaries and Thefts from Vehicles
The Police Department is investigating several crimes which have been occurring in the area of School Lane Hills, President Avenue, and Columbia Avenue.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m. April 7, 2010, a resident of North President Avenue returned home to find that forced entry had been made to the residence and that the home had been ransacked. Jewelry and electronics had been taken.
Along Columbia Avenue, cars in the parking lots of businesses and churches have been targeted. The thieves have been smashing windows and removing valuables, such as GPS units and stereos.
Protect your homes with basic crime prevention techniques. Trim your bushes to ensure that your windows and doors can be seen from the street. Keep your doors and windows locked at all times. Get to know your neighbors and encourage them to report suspicious activity. Leave outside lights on at night to deter criminals. Be sure that your address is clearly visible from the street so that emergency responders can find you quickly in an emergency.
Protect your vehicles by locking your doors and removing your valuables – any indication that something valuable is inside gives the criminals a reason to break in. At night, park in a well lit area.
When you see suspicious activity, such as a vehicle or person that is out of place, it is important that you call 911 immediately!

Crime Alert – March 1, 2010 Lancaster Township Residential Burglaries
The Police Department is investigating several residential burglaries which have recently occurred in Lancaster Township during the daytime hours.
Residents are urged to lock their doors and windows when not at home. It is also important to report suspicious activity as it is occurring. If you see somebody walking around a neighbor’s house who does not belong there, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!
Outside lights should be left on at night to deter crime, and bushes should be trimmed back from your windows and doors. Get to know your neighbors so that you are familiar with what is “normal” and what is not. Don’t be afraid to report anything suspicious to the police.

The Manheim Township Police Department is investigating a daytime burglary which occurred in the 1900 Block of Harclay Place, Manheim Township.
Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. January 28, 2010, entry was made to a residence by forcing open a door. Electronic devices were taken, including a TV and laptop.
