PROGRAMS

The Manheim Township Recreation Division offers a variety of programs and activities to enhance learning, lifetime fitness and fun for the resident of Manheim Township.

Our quarterly Activities brochure details the variety of classes and programs available for the whole family to enjoy.

The Overlook Activities Center offers public roller skating and a venue for group parties.

AQUATIC programs are taught all year long, designed for all ages, from beginner to advanced. Programs range from lessons to water aerobics to scuba.

YOUTH PROGRAMS are very diverse depending on the season of the year. Kids can participate in classes involving music, books, arts & crafts, science, dance and much more! These activities promote life-enriching fun for everyone!

SPORT & FITNESS programs cover a wide array of activities. Not only do we conduct adult and youth sport leagues, but aerobics, yoga and wellness programs too! All levels and abilities can find an activity favorable to their interest.

ADULTS enjoy recreation too! Adult classes target numerous areas ranging from drawing & design to business & finance strategies to wood carving! Programs are designed to promote leisure and lifetime involvement.


Manheim Township Parks & Recreation Department YOUTH SPORT LEAGUES are open to Manheim Township residents only. All programs are in-house, intramural style play with limited travel. Activities are conducted on/in Township facilities. Programs operate with the assistance of parent and adult volunteers. The success of each program depends on Volunteer involvement!

YOUTH BASKETBALL - Basketball leagues are divided into age and gender groups from grade 3 through grade 12. Special registration forms are required for these programs and can be obtained in the school or at the Parks & Recreation Office. This program greatly depends on volunteer help!

ADULT VOLLEYBALL– The Men’s League plays November through April. The Co–ed Rec League plays April through August. Both Leagues are broken into divisions and compete at the Overlook Activities Center. Leagues are open to both residents and non-residents. Team registration is requested, but "interested individuals&rquot; may contact the Parks & Recreation Office to be placed on a contact list. A maximum of 12 players (minimum 8) constitutes a roster with no more than two high school students. Call (717) 290–7180 ext.3104 to request information.


 

     Several independent volunteer organizations offer their services to the youth of Manheim Township. Each association has its own officers, Board of Directors, by-laws and rules and regulations. All organizations are required to abide by the Manheim Township Standards for Youth Sports adapted from the National Youth Sports Coaching Association (NYSCA). With the exception of the standards, facility scheduling and maintenance, the associations are independent of Manheim Township Parks & Recreation Department. Parents needing information or interested in offering their services to these organizations may do so by contacting the following:
