A variety of entertainment and recreation opportunities are available in Manheim Township. Our 14 parks offer recreation opportunities including picnic facilities, playground areas, walking and hiking trails, areas landscaped with native plants and a canoe/kayak launch. For bicyclists, there's a 12-mile linear bike route with terrain that should pose no problem to even the most inexperienced rider. Our facilities include the Boettcher House Museum at Landis Woods, which houses a collection of displays reflecting the natural and historical heritage of the Township, Skyline and Overlook swimming pools, the Overlook Activities Center, which houses a roller skating rink and gymnasium, and Overlook Golf Course. Stauffer Mansion, a Victorian Mansion left to the Township in an estate, was adapted to serve as the administrative offices of our Parks & Recreation Department and house to meeting rooms.

The Overlook Activities Center offers public roller skating and a venue for group parties. We also have several non-motorized paths throughout the Township. A work in progress, these paths will eventually link areas of the Township. In 1999, Manheim Township acquired a 140-acre tract of land adjoining the Overlook Golf Course and Park with the intention of developing the tract as a hub with recreation areas and possibly a community center. Development of the tract is expected to occur over the next 20 years.
