LEGAL NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Manheim Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Manheim Township Municipal Building, 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, Pennsylvania the Board will consider for enactment and, if appropriate, vote to enact proposed Ordinance 2025-12, the caption of which is as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MANHEIM, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, REPEALING CHAPTER 346 "PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS" OF THE MANHEIM TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES IN ITS ENTIRETY AND REPLACING THE SAME WITH A REVISED CHAPTER 346 "PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS", ESTABLISHING REVISED AND ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES APPLICABLE TO ALL TOWNSHIP OWNED PARKS, TRAILS, AND TOWNSHIP-CONTROLLED PROPERTIES. Ordinance 2025-12 can be summarized as follows:
Section 1 repeals the existing ordinance establishing rules and regulations for Parks and Recreation Areas found at Chapter 346 of the Manheim Township Code.
Section 2 replaces it with a new, comprehensive set of rules and regulations that apply to all parks, park buildings, facilities and grounds operated by and located within the Township. These include definitions; prohibited and regulated uses and acts; vehicle and traffic regulations; authorization for adopting additional rules and regulations for specific Township facilities; establishing hours of operation for park and recreation areas; regulations governing the providing of services and equipment by the Township; and other regulations related to the use of park and recreation areas.
Sections 3 and 4 include repealer, severability and effective date provisions.
A copy of the proposed ordinance may be examined or copied in the office of the Township Secretary at 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, Pennsylvania on regular business days between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. A copy of the Ordinance also may be examined without charge at the offices of this newspaper (LNP) and at the Lancaster County Law Library located at 50 N.
