[ARCHIVED] City of Lancaster Water Department Issues Boiling Water Advisory in Various Locations

On Wednesday, 3/2 at 10:00 AM, a boil water advisory(BWA) is in effect for eight customer service areas:

37-49 Danbury Drive,
1822 Manchester Lane and
1810 &1818 Sturbridge Drive

Customers were notified on 3/2 by distributing orange colored "Boil Water Advisory" notices.

The repair work could cause temporary cloudy/brown/rusty water. The water should clear within several hours after the repair work is completed.

The BWA is required because of a valve replacement. The repair will be completed by approximately 11 AM.

A BWA notice is posted on the City web site (See link attached):

Customers will be notified when the BWA is lifted, I will email everyone and a notice will be posted on the City web site.

We are issuing this notice as a precaution. There is no evidence at this time that the water is not safe to drink.

The notice instructs customers not to use the water without boiling it first. Until further notice, boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, food preparation, washing dishes, brushing teeth and making ice.

If you have questions, e-mail or call Al Nagy at 291.4833. If I am not available, call the City Water Quality Lab at 717-291.4818
