On June 15th, the Board of Commissioners conducted interviews of all applicants for the vacant commissioner position created by the resignation of Allison Troy. The Commissioners had to choose from fourteen excellent candidates to make the difficult decision to choose three final candidates. During their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 22nd the Commissioners conducted second interviews of the three final candidates for commissioner. Following these interviews and after extensive deliberation, the Commissioners appointed Carol Gifford to fill the vacancy. As a commissioner, Carol will use her extensive government experience in communications, marketing and outreach to deliberate and better explain the challenging decisions facing this board. Ms. Gifford will serve until the first Monday of January 2022.
