[ARCHIVED] MTPL's Monthly "Did You Know?" Series

According to the American Cleaning Institute’s (ACI) annual National Cleaning Survey, 78 percent of Americans will roll up their sleeves to spring clean their homes this year. Are you planning to jump on board this spring? Does that feel overwhelming? Where should you begin? Here are some ways that MTPL will help you get a jump start on your spring cleaning goals!

  • As Alexander Graham Bell said, “Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” Here at the library, we turn to books for our planning and preparation and created a Spring Cleaning list of books to help you do the same. Click the link below. Did we miss any? What books have helped your cleaning and organizing pursuits?

MTPL - Spring Cleaning List

For many people a key to spring cleaning is getting rid of extra clutter….which may include books, DVDs, CDs, video games, puzzles and board games. Would you consider donating those items to MTPL? To make this even easier, we are offering extended donation hours with volunteer helpers April 19th – 23rd from 9:00am – 11:00am.

  • After decluttering all your bookshelves and bedside tables, it’s time to add some new books for spring and summer reading! Let us pick some “new to you” titles by ordering some Surprise Book Bundles: https://mtpl.info/surprise-bundle-sale/

  • If you prefer to pick out your own titles to fill your now empty shelf space or just love browsing through gently loved books, we are expanding the Book Spot at the library April 20th-23rd so that we can make even more titles and genres available. Visit the original Book Spot and the expanded Book Spot (Morgan C) during library hours.
