Tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day, Manheim Township Police and Fire Rescue will participate in their inaugural Turkey Bowl at the Manheim Township Athletic Complex (Weaver Field) located at 2883 Weaver Road. The event is free to attend by the public, and kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 am.
MTFR and MTPD personnel will take part in a flag football matchup in a spirited, friendly competition between the two departments. They will also be playing for more than bragging rights, as they will be accepting non-perishable food items, and toys for Toys for Tots. For those that can’t attend the game, they may donate before the event at any MTFR fire station, or MTPD headquarters.
“Uniting as one with one common goal… to give back to our community in a meaningful and direct way is what makes Manheim Township a special place,” said Manheim Township Fire Rescue Chief, Scott Little. “Our dedicated staff in MT Police and Fire Rescue are impacting lives everyday with their compassion for others through intentional community engagement and outreach.”
