LEGAL NOTICE

 Notice is hereby given that at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Manheim Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to be held on Monday, Monday, February 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Manheim Township Municipal Building, 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, Pennsylvania the Board will consider for enactment, and if appropriate take action to enact, proposed Ordinance 2023-04 the full title and text of which is as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MANHEIM TO REMOVE INSURANCE PROGRAMS FOR THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS. BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as follows: SECTION 1. Article IV, of Chapter 30 of the Code of the Township of Manheim, as amended (“Code”), is hereby deleted. SECTION 2. On the effective date of this Ordinance, no Commissioner shall be eligible for participation in the insurance programs of the Township with respect to its policies of group insurance covering life, health, hospitalization, medical and surgical service or accident insurance and Manheim Township is no longer authorized to expend from the general Township funds any amount to include the Commissioners of Manheim Township in the aforesaid insurance programs. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective at the beginning of the next term of each newly elected or re-elected Commissioner. In the case of an appointment to fill a vacancy in the position of Commissioner, this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of appointment. In no event shall the final effective date of this Ordinance be later than January 5, 2026. A complete copy of Ordinance No. 2023-04 as proposed together with any related exhibits are available for public inspection and may be examined by any citizen in the office of the Township Secretary 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, Pennsylvania on regular business days between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The public may participate in the meeting either in-person or virtually. Instructions for participating virtually are posted on the Township’s website (www.manheimtownship.org). The public may contact the Township during regular business hours with any questions.
