On Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm, members of the Manheim Township Police Department (MTPD) will join residents and community leaders to celebrate the 40th Annual National Night Out. The event will be hosted at Manheim Township Community Park located at 209 Petersburg Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police / community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
This free, family-friendly event will feature music, games, food, drinks, free ice cream, yard games, a special K-9 demonstration, and a few special surprises.
“We are excited to get out and celebrate the great Manheim Township community that we are blessed to live in,” said Officer Natalie Littlehale. “We have 20 community agencies committed to the event, and there will be a special surprise event for the children, thanks to our partnerships with Target and Wayne’s Towing.”
National Night Out started in August of 1984 where the first iteration of the event involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states. It has grown over the years into block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events where neighbors can connect, and connect with their local law enforcement under positive circumstances.
