The Manheim Township Commissioners, the emergency services team and other Township staff express sadness and condolences to the family of Dave S. Smith, upon word of his recent passing on Friday, July 13, 2012, at his Manheim Township home surrounded by his loving family.
A long time member of the Manheim Township community and Manheim Township School District graduate, Mr. Smith served in various capacities as a volunteer fire fighter and ambulance/EMS service provider for many years, but most recently as Operations Director for the Manheim Township Ambulance Association (MTAA).
Working hand-in-hand with local Township volunteer fire fighters, police staff, and other ambulance first responders in Manheim Township and the Lancaster region on a daily basis, David was a leader and significant contributor to the successful provision of emergency services to our community with MTAA for over 20 years. His passing is a tremendous loss to the EMS experience and expertise in our community and he will be sorely missed.
