[ARCHIVED] Preliminary Plans for Harrisburg Pk./Dillerville Rd/President Ave.Improvment Open for Public Review

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and their design consultant, Mackin Engineering Company, are in the preliminary engineering phase for the SR 4020 / Dillerville Rd. / N. President Ave. intersection improvement project. The project will include traffic signal upgrades, pedestrian accommodations, and minor road widening at the SR 4020 / Dillerville Rd. / N President Ave intersection. The road widening will allow additional left turn storage, a right turn lane on the Eastbound Harrisburg Pike approach, and a right turn lane on the Southbound Dillerville Rd. approach.

In addition to the improvements at this intersection, the project proposes to implement an adaptive traffic signal system that will coordinate 15 signalized intersections along the Harrisburg Pike corridor between Mulberry Street in the City of Lancaster and Hemlock Drive in East
Hempfield Township. The work at these additional intersections will be limited to signal equipment upgrades only.

Construction of this project is scheduled to begin in early 2015 and will take approximately one construction season to complete. Preliminary roadway plans for the project will be available for viewing at the following time and location:

Location: Manheim Township Municipal Building, 1840 Municipal Dr. Lancaster, PA 17601
Dates: February 11 – April 12
Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday & at regularly scheduled meetings
