Number of Occupants in a Dwelling Unit

A dwelling unit is defined as a single habitable living unit occupied by only one family. Each dwelling unit shall have its own toilet, bath or shower, sink, sleeping and cooking facilities and separate access to the outside or to a common hallway or balcony that connects to outside access at ground level. This would include one single family home, one duplex or townhouse unit, or one apartment unit.

A family is defined as an individual or individuals related by blood, marriage, or adoption that maintain one common household and live within one dwelling unit. Additionally, up to three unrelated individuals who maintain a common household and live within one dwelling unit may be considered a family, excluding group homes
